The Jordan Tatum 5 is what Jayson Tatum will lace up in his first full season after an achilles tear. Rooted in efficiency, control and performance, this latest edition was made for hoopers that need a responsive ride and ultimate containment. Swipe ahead to learn more.

The Tatum 5’s global release arrives right before the 2026-27 NBA season after an initial September 24th launch in China.

New to the design is a forefoot strap meant to add next-level containment and allow for Tatum to move with confidence at all times. According to the Design Director for Jordan Basketball Footwear, Tony Hardman, “Every detail, from the containment-focused strap to the lightweight, responsive performance package, was designed to help athletes feel connected, confident and in command of every possession.”

The cushion set up in the Tatum 5 features Air Zoom in the forefoot to create a responsive pop when pushing off. Tatum shoots a lot of threes, but the Tatum 5 is sure to help him with not only his signature side step, but also with his explosion on the way to the rim. And for the weekend warriors that play outdoors, the Tatum 5 features high abrasion HART rubber on the outsole.

Similar to the Tatum 4, the Tatum 5 was designed to require no break in time. Its made of a soft molded upper with perforated sections and mesh overlays that allow for maximum airflow. It was important to Nike and Tatum to design a shoe that’s playable right out of the box.

The heel of the right shoe features a very subtle nod to Tatum’s journey — the five horizontal stripes at the heel represent the scar he has from the achilles surgery.

The launch colorway, Sunrise is a vibrant mix of Bright Concord, Urban Lilac, and China Rose. It represents the look of the sky during a sunrise in Boston. Soon to follow will be the Sunset colorway.
