These playful, white fluff balls are affectionate and good with children. Originating in Italy, this stocky breed gets 10 to 12 inches tall and weighs only 6 to 10 pounds. They’re not terribly high-energy, so that might be good for families with very young children.

The inquisitive rat terrier is a playful family member with a smooth, shiny coat that doesn’t require frequent grooming. This breed is good with children and moderately good with other dogs. They can range from 13 to 18 inches tall.
This cuddly pooch was actually bred to be a companion. They're very loving and loyal, and excellent with young children. Weighing in at 13-18 pounds, they grow to about a foot tall. King Charles Spaniels are loved for their silky coat which is usually a blend of white with tan, red or black.
