Four crew members aboard a U.S. Coast Guard helicopter were injured in a crash in Sitka on Monday, officials said.

The Coast Guard in a social media post late Monday morning said the incident involved a Coast Guard MH-60 Jayhawk.

The crash occurred near Harbor Mountain, according to Coast Guard Lt. Pam Manns. There were four people aboard the helicopter, which was on a training mission, Manns said.

Sitka fire and rescue crews arrived at the crash site around 11 a.m., and took all four people to Mt. Edgecumbe Medical Center, she said. The crash was reported to watch standers at the Arctic District command center just after 10:05 a.m., Coast Guard officials said.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.

"Any time something like this happens, it's very concerning," Manns said. "We're a close Coast Guard family, so it's great to hear there have been no deaths."

The condition of the four crew members wasn't immediately known, she said.
