Hilton has opened what it is calling the world’s first underwater hotel in the Maldives, a small tropical nation in South Asia. The price tag of $50,000 a night covers the use of a personal chef and a private boat. The real draw though is the dreamlike views of the Indian Ocean that you would be able to get from your bed, 16 feet below sea level.
Of course, the whole dang thing isn’t underwater; that would be ridiculous. The top floor of the two-story villa features a relaxation deck where you can get some sun, as well as some other amenities that you might expect to find at a luxury resort, including an infinity pool, a bar and a gym. The villa is connected by a jetty to Hilton’s Conrad Maldives Rangali Island resort, another above-water property.
Continue on to see some of the views — both above and below water — that you could take in at this one-of-a-kind hotel, dubbed the Muraka.

The dual sinks in the bathroom mean you and your significant other can look out into the deep, blue abyss while brushing your teeth in the morning.
The resort’s underwater five-star restaurant opened more than a decade before underwater lodging became available at the resort.
