The New England Patriots signed tight end Hunter Henry to a two-year, $16 million contract extension, a league source told UPI on Monday.

Aug. 10 (UPI) -- The New England Patriots signed tight end Hunter Henry to a two-year, $16 million contract extension, a league source told UPI on Monday.

Henry's pact includes $14.5 million guaranteed. He was entering the final year of the three-year, $27 million contract extension he signed in 2024.

Henry, 31, caught 60 passes for 768 yards and a team-high seven scores over 17 starts last season. The 10-year veteran totaled 259 catches for 2,973 yards and 26 scores over the last five seasons for the Patriots.

He is to line up alongside wide receivers A.J. Brown, Romeo Doubs and DeMario Douglas as one of quarterback Drake Maye's top targets in 2026.

The Patriots will host the Indianapolis Colts in their preseason opener at 7:30 p.m. EDT Thursday in Foxborough, Mass. They will face the Seattle Seahawks in their regular season opener -- a rematch of Super Bowl XLIX -- on Sept. 9 in Seattle.
