A North Carolina woman said a bout of insomnia lead to her winning a $150,000 prize while "fiddling around" with online lottery games.

July 15 (UPI) -- A North Carolina woman said a bout of insomnia lead to her winning a $150,000 prize while "fiddling around" with online lottery games.

Mooresville resident Sue Rowley told North Carolina Education Lottery officials she was having trouble sleeping on the night of July 8, so she got out her phone and started playing some Digital Instant lottery games.

"It was late at night and I was just fiddling around playing when it happened," Rowley said.

She placed a $30 bet on the Tumbling Treasures game, earning a $150,000 prize.

"I just didn't believe it at the time because this is not a normal occurrence," the winner said.

Rowley said her prize money will allow her to do some home renovations.

"We are pretty excited," Rowley said.
