The beginning of 2020 marked a special time for the Los Angeles Zoo, where a baby gorilla was born for the first time in 20 years. First-time mother N’dija and father Kelly are Western Lowland gorillas, a species that’s critically endangered, so the baby gorilla is seen as part of a successful survival program.
