Oct. 23 (UPI) -- A public works employee in an Ohio city is being praised for an unusual rescue involving a stuffed toy that fell into a storm drain.
The City of Riverside said in a social media post that Riverside Public Works employee Kevin Miller fished into action when a young child lost their stuffed toy into a storm drain on the way to school.
"The child's mom called this in and sent the photos she took of Kevin's act of kindness," the post said.
The photos show Miller removing a cover from the storm drain and using a reaching tool to life the stuffed cat.
"It may seem like a small act of kindness, but to a child, that stuffed animal means the world," officials wrote. "Thank you, Kevin, for showing that heroes don't always wear capes -- sometimes, they wear a City of Riverside employee badge!"
