On September 13, 2000, filmmaker Cameron Crowe released his Academy Award-winning film "Almost Famous," launching the careers of Kate Hudson and Patrick Fugit. In addition to an Oscar for Best Original Screenplay, the film about a classic rock band on tour and the budding young journalist following them won two Golden Globes -- Best Motion Picture - Musical or Comedy and Best Supporting Actress for Hudson.
