Nike wants to show everybody what it means to be New York Made for this year's NYC Fashion Week. The legendary brand is aiming to celebrate the city's blend of sports and creativity by paying homage to basketball and its influence on the urban fashion world. Throughout the week, Nike will be collaborating with other industry innovators to put unique spins on retros and other classic silhouettes.
Kicking things off is new take on the Nike Dunk featuring Comme des Garçons and NikeLab.
Next up is the commemorative “5 Decades of Basketball” collection with partner KITH. The line features top-of-the-line renditions of the Air Force 1 Sport Lux, Blazer Studio Low, Air Foamposite Pro, Air Zoom Generation and the Flight Bonafide.
Riccardo Tisci adds in another joint effort with Nike with the NikeLab Dunk Lux Chukka. The shoe will be released in 3 different colorways alongside complimentary Nike Destroyer jackets by artist Eric Elms.
Lastly, VLONE along with co-fonder A$AP Bari are set to release their highly-anticipated VLONE x Nike Air Force 1. The shoe's trio of color schemes look to pay tribute to the past, present and future of the iconic Harlem basketball culture.
