Quarterback Baker Mayfield appeared comfortable throwing the football with a white glove still providing some protection to the right thumb he dislocated a month ago.
But Mayfield could be without Emeka Egbuka, the Bucs’ leading receiver, if he starts Sunday in Carolina. Egbuka missed practice Wednesday and Thursday with a concussion/foot injury.
Egbuka appeared to sustain a blow to the head last Sunday with 7:15 remaining in the game when he was struck by Steelers linebacker Patrick Queen. Egbuka, who leads the Bucs with 28 receptions for 240 yards and two touchdowns, did finish the game.
In addition to Egbuka, starting right tackle Luke Goedeke (calf) and linebacker Christian Rozeboom (finger) were not practicing.
Running back Bucky Irving, cornerback Zyon McCollum and defensive tackle Calijah Kancey, who were all out or limited by illness the previous day, were all back working Thursday.
Safety Antoine Winfield Jr., who is nursing cracked ribs, still was wearing a black non-contact jersey.
