Music industry veterans Gloria and Emilio Estefan have collected 22 Grammy awards between the two of them. Since the mid-1970s the Estefans have both led very successful careers, propelling them to a social status worthy of owning property on Miami Beach’s Star Island. With the main residence measuring at just under 8,000 square feet, this abundant waterfront property features tons of luxurious amenities, beautiful ocean views and a level of privacy any celebrity could appreciate.
Originally constructed in 1940, the property’s Floridian-style main house and guest quarters sit on a massive 58,000-square-foot plot of land. The assortment of plant life and sprawling green lawn help tie together the home’s tropical island feel.
Blinding white walls create the perfect contrast against the home’s wooden floors and accents. This color scheme is used throughout the living room, kitchen and dining room, creating a light and airy feel that’s perfect for staying cool in the hot Florida sun.
Upstairs, the bedrooms feature the same all-white aesthetic used on the lower level. The spacious master bedroom and classic-style bathroom both include private balconies with clear views of the Biscayne Bay. Aside from the scenery, this wouldn’t be the home of an entertainment industry couple without a massive walk-in closet.
Even the guest house is pretty impressive in its own right. The three-bedroom, three-bathroom residence is located at the front of the property near the gated entrance. It features its own center courtyard and jacuzzi outside, while the interior’s 30-foot ceilings and spiral staircase provide a bit of welcomed luxurious flare.
The Estefan’s listed their massive Florida compound in 2019 for $32 million — A $30.2 million increase over what they paid for it in 1993. Originally the home was purchased for Emilio’s mother to live in. Since the extensive remodel in 1995, it’s served as a guest residence for A-list celebrity friends like Jennifer Lopez, Cher and Ricky Martin. Complete with a swimming pool, private dock with electric boat lift and sweeping unobstructed views of the bay and downtown Miami, this expansive property on Star Island sits at the pinnacle of Miami Beach living.
