Deep in the city of Shanghai, China is a glitzy, white and gold hexagon-heavy dessert and drink shop — think Willy Wonka meets minimalism. Dr. Bravura Bird’s Nest Drink & Dessert Store features a design primarily reliant on its research and development background, with the hexagons representing molecules in chemical formulas. Hexagon shapes can be found in the gold-accented casings, in the shapes of the lights, on the walls and even on the floor.
Focused on nutritional science, the store serves healthy desserts made with traditional ingredients and chose its design to reflect that ideal. Take a walk through this scientifically inspired shop — nothing has ever made bird’s nest drinks seem more appealing.

Designed by architecture firm Towodesign, the shop features a hexagonal molecule mirror near some of the seating.
The design doesn't just focus on hexagons but also draws inspiration from other science-related shapes and styles to give the feeling of being in a laboratory.
The custom furniture fits the store perfectly and by including neutral colors, it's able to bring attention to the remarkable curves and shapes that take center stage.
The more than 1,200-square-foot shop effectively portrays its chemical formula theme while still remaining intimate and comfortable for patrons.
