Inter Milan agreed to a $40 million deal for Liverpool midfielder Curtis Jones. The 25-year-old logged three goals and three assists last season.

Aug. 20 (UPI) -- Inter Milan agreed to a $40 million deal for Liverpool midfielder Curtis Jones.

Sources told The Athletic, ESPN and Sky Sports about the pact Thursday. Jones, 25, made his senior team debut for the Reds in 2019. He had one year remaining on his contract.

The English midfielder totaled three goals and three assists over 49 appearances in 2025-26. He logged 22 goals and 22 assists over 228 total appearances for the Reds.

Jones did not appear in the Reds' last two friendlies -- the last two Sundays against Como and Monaco. The Reds will open their Premier League campaign against Newcastle at 11:30 a.m. EDT Sunday in Newcastle upon Tyne, England.

Inter Milan will host Monza in an Italian Serie A opener at 12:30 p.m. Saturday in Milan.
