July 28 (UPI) -- Firefighters in England had to break through concrete to rescue a "wee hedgehog" found trapped in a drain.
The Ellesmere Fire Station said on social media that crews responded Friday to a "small animal rescue" situation that turned out to be a hedgehog trapped in an underground drain.
Volunteers from Cuan Wildlife Rescue were also called to the scene to help.
"Crews used small tools to break through concrete which exposed the drain (dug a hole) and crews released the wee hedgehog from its predicament," the post said.
The hedgehog was turned over to Cuan Wildlife Rescue for care.
