One of America’s biggest pastimes happens to be the discussion of pop culture. The Internet and social media brought along a level of access to celebrities that had never existed, and now the most successful celebrities are quite often the most visible.
New images of celebrities flood the Internet daily, and creativity is at an all-time high now that photo and video editing software is easily accessible. Former graphic design online community Worth1000 hosted a long-running contest where the objective was to seamlessly blend classic art and current celebrities. The Worth1000, “Modern Renaissance” contest yielded plenty of realistic recreations.
Take a look at this collection of classic portrait paintings, featuring the faces of some of your favorite celebs. Part of a series.
