Combatting Burnout at Work and at Home

If every day feels like a bad day and you’re constantly tired or drained, you may be on the path to burnout. It’s not a good feeling, but by implementing just a few positive actions you can work towards overcoming the overwhelming stress.

Exercise

Even several short walks throughout the day can do wonders to relieve stress and refocus your thoughts.

Find Value in Your Work

Even the most mundane job can have its upsides. Try to find value in what you do every day and you’ll begin to change your daily mindset.

Set Boundaries

Some people have problems saying “no.” Don’t feel any remorse for turning down requests on your time — it gives you the ability to say “yes” to the activities you actually want to participate in.

Limit Contact with Negative People

We all know a Negative Nancy. When trying to combat burnout, negative feelings are only going to make things worse. Instead, reach out those you’re closest too and whose time you find positive and enjoyable.
