Nov. 6 (UPI) -- The Baltimore Ravens acquired veteran quarterback Jacoby Brissett through a trade with the Arizona Cardinals, the teams announced Friday.

Brissett and a fifth-round pick in the 2027 NFL Draft will go to the Ravens in exchange for a fourth-round pick in 2027 and seventh-round pick in 2028.

The Ravens traded for the veteran passer in the wake of injuries at the quarterback position. They placed starter Lamar Jackson and second-string quarterback Tyler Huntley on injured reserve Thursday. Huntley is set to miss the remainder of the season due to turf toe.

Brissett will join Joe Fagnano, Austin Reed and Kedon Slovis in a revamped Ravens quarterbacks' room.

Fagnano completed 10 of 18 passes for 60 yards and two interceptions in a 33-10 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars on Thursday in Baltimore. He also ran for 13 yards. Reed was the Ravens' second-string quarterback against the Jaguars. Slovis, who was inactive, was their emergency third-string quarterback.

Brissett, 33, completed 63.3% of his throws for 1,719 yards, 10 scores and seven interceptions through eight starts this season for the Cardinals. He was benched in the Cardinals' Week 8 overtime win over the Dallas Cowboys in favor of Gardner Minshew.

Coach Mike LaFleur announced Monday that Minshew will remain the Cardinals' starting quarterback. He also said rookie Carson Beck would be the second-string option.

Brissett completed just 10 of 23 attempts for 119 yards and an interception in Sunday's win. Minshew completed 17 of 23 passes for 188 yards and three scores against the Cowboys.

The Cardinals (3-5) will play the Seattle Seahawks (4-4) at 4:25 p.m. EST Sunday in Seattle. The Ravens (4-5) will host the Los Angeles Chargers (0-7) on Nov. 16 in Baltimore.
