Oct. 14 (UPI) -- A Finnish chef showed his love for his favorite orange soda by chugging nearly 17 ounces of the beverage in 3.16 seconds to break a world record.
Tomi Kotilainen, 26, broke the Guinness World Record for the fastest time to drink 500 milliliters (16.9 ounces) of soda on June 13 in Järvenpää.
Kotilainen's beverage of choice for the attempt was Jaffa, a Finnish brand of orange soda that he described as "the best drink" in the world.
Kotilainen is the first person to hold the record, handily beating the goal of 5 seconds set by Guinness World Records.
The chef said he plans to attempt more speed-drinking records in the future and believes he could best his own time with more attempts.
