Converse Connects with Babylon

Created by Los Angeles-based punk band Trash Talk, Babylon is equal parts retail space, skate spot and art gallery. This diverse creative energy is collected in the new Converse x Babylon collection.

“Converse has supported so many different forms of creativity throughout the years. Whether it is music, art, skateboarding or sports. That is something that we also represent with Babylon,” explains Babylon’s Lee Spielman. “Taking all of the things that we love and putting it under one roof with the common goal of pushing the boundaries a bit. We both share the idea that anything is possible if you put your mind to it.”

The Converse Chuck Taylor All Star II Babylon is embellished with two Babylon script logos: one embroidered Babylon along the heel and the other emblazoned on the shoe’s textured toecap. Additionally, a screen-printed “peace sign” appears on the upper.

“With this shoe we wanted to keep the same classic Chuck Taylor look and put our own spin on it. You can wear these out to dinner or out in the city skating with your friends,” explains Spielman. “I really like the tonal aspect of this shoe. It's not super flashy but it’s fully custom. The suede toe caps will make it better for kids out there who want to skate in them.”

Familiar Babylon graphics also decorate the collection’s apparel offerings, which include long and short sleeve tees and a fleece popover.
