If you’re getting ready for guests this holiday season, you’ll want to make sure they’re as comfortable as possible. Take the time to anticipate their every need, and they might never leave….wait—is that a good thing???

Everyone forgets a necessity now and then. Be sure to have shampoo, conditioner, toothpaste, disposable razors, soap, cotton swabs, period products, ibuprofen, nail files, dental floss… anything your guest might have left at home. Place a basket of these goodies in the guest bedroom or bathroom so your guests will have easy access to whatever they need.

Some people like to sleep with a lot of pillows. Anticipate your guests’ comfort by providing several pillows so they can arrange themselves just so and get a good night’s sleep.
A bedside box of tissues can come in handy for more than the occasional sneeze. Make sure your guests have this necessity at the ready for whatever pops up.

A bedside clock is another kind gesture for friends and family who like to know the time when they wake up in the middle of the night, or in the morning. Consider one with big numbers so people with vision issues will have no trouble reading it.

If you don’t use the guest room often and haven’t thought to include a wastebasket, think again. Your guests will find this simple item very useful and will be grateful you thought to put one in their room.

Folks might get quite chilly at night during winter. Be sure guests are prepared with a stack of cozy blankets they can layer on as necessary. Include lightweight blankets in your supply, as well as heavier types.
Of course, your guests will want to shower or take a bath during their visit. Be sure to offer plenty of clean towels. Bath sheets, washcloths, and hand towels are all important parts of your guest room setup.
