DETROIT — Kid Rock is promising "a lot of music this next year," including a Christian album due out this fall, he announced on social media on Wednesday.

In a three and-a-half minute video posted to his social media channels, Rock toasted the 28th anniversary of his breakthrough album, "Devil Without a Cause," which was released on Aug. 18, 1998.

Near the end of the video, he casually mentioned he'll be mastering his new album — a set of songs he says are inspired by his "spiritual journey" — next week, and then will begin a traditional rollout of the album.

"I'm really looking froward to people hearing this. It's a crazy journey I've been on," he says in the video. "I've grown a lot stronger in my faith."

He hasn't totally changed his ways, he assures — "I'm still Kid motherf— Rock" is how he put it — but says his faith guided him while making the album.

"It's an album I had to record, I was called to record, and we're gonna put it out this fall," he said.

He then said that album's follow-up is ready to go as well.

"And then basically I have another Kid Rock record ready to go after that," he said.

Rock already charted a No. 1 single on the Christian charts, when his cover of Cody Johnson's 2021 hit "'Til You Can't" hit the top spot on Billboard Hot Christian Songs chart in February. He debuted the single while performing on Turning Point USA's "All American Halftime Show" on Super Bowl Sunday.

That single, which was released the night of his performance on the alternative Super Bowl halftime show, logged 3.7 million streams and 51,000 sales its first week, according to music biz tracker Luminate. The song also topped Billboard's Digital Song Sales chart its first week.

Rock's as-yet-untitled new album will be his first since 2022's "Bad Reputation."
