A photographer known only as Chiffa has a penchant for discovering abandoned places. Chiffa went on an exploration of an old Soviet submarine and it is truly astonishing to see how it’s completely frozen in time.
This particular submarine dates back to 1965 when it served the Northern Fleet in Baltic waters and the Mediterranean and was even based in Egypt for some time.
The submarine was part of Project 641, also known as the Foxtrot-class submarines, which were NATOs classification for submarines built by the Soviet Union.
The first submarine to join the Soviet fleet was in 1958, but by the time the last of the 75 submarines were built in 1985, the practice was already deemed outdated and morally debatable.
This submarine was capable of carrying 22 torpedoes.
