It's time for arguably the best time of year for big TV watchers – the fall release window! Among a long list of long-time favorites and new premieres, there are a few shows we think are worth sitting down and digging into.

Slow Horses

Apple TV+, September 16

Gary Oldman is back as the gloriously unbothered Jackson Lamb, with Jack Lowden, Kristin Scott Thomas and Hugo Weaving alongside him. Season 6 runs six weekly episodes from September 16 to October 21, adapting Mick Herron's novels Joe Country and Slough House, and a seventh season is already locked in for 2027.

Outlander: Blood of My Blood

Starz, September 18

This Outlander prequel follows the parents of Jamie and Claire across two timelines: WWI-era England and 18th-century Scotland. Season 2 lands September 18 on Starz, with new episodes rolling out weekly after that.

The Gilded Age

HBO, Fall 2026

Julian Fellowes, the mind behind Downton Abbey, brings his 1880s New York society drama back for a fourth season. HBO has confirmed a fall 2026 window, though as of mid-June no exact date had been set.

Lupin

Netflix, October 23

Omar Sy returns as gentleman-thief Assane Diop for the longest chapter yet: eight episodes dropping globally October 23. The French series draws on Maurice Leblanc's original novels and comes subtitled, so settle in and read along.

The Diplomat

Netflix, late 2026

Keri Russell is back as Ambassador Kate Wyler, and Netflix has the fourth season on its slate to return before the year is out. Production wrapped mid-2026, but Netflix hasn't confirmed an exact premiere date yet.

JAŸ-Z IN 8

HBO Max, Fall 2026

Rick Rubin, the Def Jam co-founder, sits down with Shawn Carter to pull apart his lyrics, craft and creative process across eight episodes. Carter, Daniel Kaluuya and Rubin executive produce this HBO Max docuseries, arriving sometime in the fall.

The Traitors: New Blood

NBC, September 17

NBC opens its fall on September 17 with a two-hour premiere of the civilian edition, New Blood. If you like your reality TV built on lies, betrayal and a very fancy Scottish castle, this is the one.
