The art deco skyscraper in Manhattan may be known for its iconic place in the New York City skyline, but soon it may also be known for its newest second-floor gallery — a $165 million Observatory Experience.
Spanning 100,000-square-feet and including nine different exhibits, the gallery design was led by Thinc, a leading exhibit design firm in the city.
The exhibit goes through the Empire State Building’s history — beginning with its construction through the opening day and early years, including a section on the building in pop culture.
Take a step into this marvelous museum and perhaps head on over to New York to see it yourself.
The exhibit takes you through the construction phase of the building, but there aren’t just items to see — the interactive experience also includes the sounds of 1930s New York City from when the iconic structure went up.
The museum pays homage to the “King Kong” movie, where a giant gorilla scales the side of the building.
