Even if you make a point to not keep chips in the house, when you’re in the gas station convenience store, there they are. If you’re traveling to a new part of the country, look for flavors that are new to you, like límon, groovy or pickle potato chips.
Depending where you live or travel to, gas stations can be among the best places on the planet to get breakfast tacos. Those sweet señoras really know how to cook! Get one with bacon, potato, egg and cheese—you won’t be disappointed. Oh, and don’t forget the salsa!

If you’re driving in Hawaii, stop into a gas station and ask for Spam musubi. It’s a popular Hawaiian snack or lunch item made of a slice of grilled Spam on a block of rice, wrapped together with a strip of nori (seaweed). It’s better than you might think it is!

In the midwest, particularly Wisconsin, be sure to go in and ask for fresh, golden, melty cheese curds when you pull into a gas station to fill up. Cheese curds are fresh, unaged cheddar cheese nuggets that are coated in batter or breadcrumbs and deep-fried. Say no more!

These old-timey delights are probably not on your list of regular snacks, either, but again, the lure of Little Debbies in a gas station convenience store is hard to resist. Jelly Creme Pies are beloved in the South, while Cosmic Brownies are favored in other states like Idaho and Utah. In the Northeast, road trippers prefer delights from Drake's Cakes and Tastykakes.
