Oct. 21 (UPI) -- Oscar-winning actress Hilary Swank is opening up about her pregnancy at age 52.

The Million Dollar Baby star appeared on Tuesday's episode of The Drew Barrymore Show at 28 weeks pregnant after announcing last week that she is expecting her third child with her husband, Philip Schneider.

Swank, whose pregnancy cravings include rice krispie bars and vegan cheetos, told Barrymore she feels "nothing but excitement" to be pregnant again.

"This was the right time for me, although, you know, not everything happens in our own time. We have ideas of timelines for ourselves and getting pregnant isn't always in our own timeline," Swank said.

"For me, I was obviously very excited. It was a good time for me because I feel like I had this career that was a baby of mine, that I wanted to really give to and devote my time to, and not share," she added. "Now, I can totally devote to my children."

Swank also noted, "There's a lot of backlash women get for having children older, but not men."

Swank was 48 when she gave birth to her twins, daughter Aya and son Ohm, in 2023.

The actress most recently appeared in the 2024 film Ordinary Angels and guest starred as an adult Melissa in Yellowjackets Season 3 in 2025.
