U.S. marks 24th anniversary of 9/11 terrorist attacks

Americans marked the 24th anniversary of the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks on September 11, 2025, with memorials and commemoration ceremonies in New York City, the Pentagon in Arlington, Va., and in Pennsylvania, where hijacked planes crashed. Nearly 3,000 people were killed in the worst-ever terrorist attack on U.S. soil.
