Since the new rule allowed them to monetize their name, image, and likeness, some college — and even high school — athletes in various sports are making serious money. NIL deals for women's college basketball players increased by 186% in 2022, according to Sponsor United's report on the 2022–2023 basketball season.

Juju Watkins

Judea "Juju" Watkins graduated from Sierra Canyon School in Los Angeles as a five-star recruit and the Naismith High School Player of the Year. Watkins earned the Los Angeles Times Girls Basketball Player of the Year award during her junior season after averaging 24.8 points and 10.3 rebounds, leading the Trailblazers to a 30-2 record. She signed with Klutch Sports for NIL representation, becoming the first high school star to do so.

Jada Williams

Five-star recruit Jada Williams committed to Arizona from San Diego's La Jolla Country Day School. She was the team captain and Most Valuable Player or Co-MVP all four years of high school. Williams is believed to be the first high school girls' basketball player to sign with a national brand. She also won gold medals in the 2021 FIBA Americas U16 Championship and the 2022 FIBA U17 World Cup.

Jaden Owens

Jaden Owens was chosen for the Baylor Bears' 2022 Academic All-Big 12 first team. Owens attended UCLA for one season after graduating from Plano West High School in Texas. She chose the University of Connecticut over Baylor, Duke and South Carolina, and is confident in her decision despite her many offers. In recognition of her achievements in high school hoops, she received the 2021 Associated Press Wisconsin State Player of the Year and MaxPreps Wisconsin Girls Basketball Player of the Year awards.
